Subaward- Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Local Partner for the Zambia Digital Community Health Project (ZDCHP)
Keno Institute has been engaged by PATH Zambia as the local research partner responsible for designing monitoring and evaluation activities as well as supporting capacity-building activities for the Ministry of Health in districts of Katete, Ndola, Mpongwe and Lundazi.
Gates Foundation has funded this Subaward. The partnership includes Keno Institute working in collaboration with Busara to review and optimize the program Theory of Change, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) plan and methods for capacity assessment of Ministry staff, as described below.



- Lead Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Activities, reviewed in collaboration with Busara and the PATH MEL team. The purpose of the activity will be to develop a concrete logical framework for the ZDCHP indicators, data collection sources, responsibilities, and reporting frequencies.
- Design and conduct baseline assessment in relation to the Community Health Information Platform (CHiP) outcome and impact indicators.
- Support assessment of MoH staff technical and human resource capacity to monitor and evaluate digital health tools in collaboration with D-Tree and Busara.
- Mentor and build capacity in MoH staff to monitor, and evaluate digital health tools
- Monitor the use of and evaluate the impact of the CHiP considering; the impact on health delivery process, impact on health outcomes, cost effectiveness across single and multiple disease areas, data quality and use across single and multiple disease areas with differentiation applied across geographies and CHiP tool package and HMIS/DHIS2 data, adaptability, scalability and contribution to the national health information system and other systems in community health
